I know the family is upset and angry....they are grieving the death of an innocent child who was just 5 years old. Destiny Norton went missing on Sunday a week ago in a Salt Lake City neighbhorhood (pretty nasty neighborhood, mind you), and was found dead in the basement of a neighbors house at 8:30 pm Monday evening (a week later).

The community is shocked and saddened by this loss. She was a beautiful girl.

Unfortunately, the family is now spitting and cursing at local law enforcement and they are blaming them for her death.

WHAT?

You have got to be kidding me.

The sicko, 20 year old Craig Gregerson, lured her into his home (just behind the Norton's house) and when she began to scream, he smothered her. She was instantly dead and he did nothing to revive her. There is nothing the police could have done....NOTHING. She was dead within minutes of her entering his house probably. Most likely before the parents even relized she was missing......before they even called her name the very first time.

Still...the police did nothing wrong. They did their jobs and until her body was found, the family publically expressed their gratitude and priase for the SLCPD. Sure, you're angry and you are grieving, but DO NOT blame the police department for this. They are not the ones who took your daughter, nor are they the ones who brutally murdered her. Blame a sick monster who preyed on an innocent child and never even gave her a chance. Blame our local laws who allow individuals like him to even buy a home and live within a community where children are present. Blame our laws that keep convicted minors records sealed...no doubt he had some marks against him and I wouldn't be shocked if they were sexual crimes either.

My prayers, thoughts and tears go out to this grieving family.
